Chapter 1: TRUE POTENTIAL
TRUE POTENTIAL
How can you tap into that reservoir of potential and turn it into an actuality? In addition, is it possible to do the unimaginable? The answer to question one takes some confronting, but will be discussed further later into the chapter, and I would have to say that the answer to second question depends on the person whose imagination you are dealing with.
Creativity is something that all human beings are capable of demonstrating. We all have varying degrees of creativity. I was not exactly sure for the longest time on how to tap into that creative ability. I would often sit and ponder on how amazing it would be to play professional baseball, or how cool it would be to act in a movie. I could think about it for many hours throughout the day. I would even read books on how to increase my abilities, and there are many great books on the subject, that have definitely given me the knowledge to go forth and do something about it. I still did not do a whole lot to reach those goals.
Suddenly, a concept dawned upon me. It was the concept of freedom and immortality. Just to make this very clear, I am not going to give a discourse on a path to freedom or eternity, again, this work has been covered, but there is some very workable data in connection with conceptualizing freedom and immortality. I decided that if I were immortal and completely and utterly free, that I would do whatever is that I wished to do. I would be completely uninhibited and the society would have no force upon me. I would not need agreement from other persons as to my goals or my position in life, and I would do the things necessary to reach my goals. This does not mean, go crazy. Do not forget that workability is essential in creativity when you are involved with others in your environment. In your own universe, uninfluenced by all other life, you can do as you wish, with no penalty, but that does not apply to the physical universe that we share.
Taking on this viewpoint opened the door to an abundance of ideas. This eventually opened the door to finding the next factor necessary to the execution of an idea or goal. That is one's ability to face life without withdrawing from it. When you become completely willing to execute this factor, then you will lead into the next factor, which is making your potential an actuality.
The title on the door is your goal or dream, and the key to unlock that door is simply willingness, but the way to open the door is in your ability to face life without withdrawing from it. I mean truly, just envision that it is that simple because it really is. The only barriers you will encounter are the one's you agree are there or the one's you decide to give some attention.
Imagine walking down the Hall of Goals to the Door of your Dreams, with the key to unlock any of the doors, and just before you begin to open it somebody says from behind you, "I don't know if that is safe," or "I wouldn't do that if I were you. It really isn't worthwhile to go that way," and you stopped dead in your tracks and said, "You might be right, I guess I shouldn't do that." You would find that idiotic, wouldn't you? Well, that is what you are doing when you are doing everything else but going toward your dreams. You have stopped in your tracks and gone in agreement with someone who is doing nothing for you to reach your targets. Wow! Do not worry! There is a way out of this mess.
All you have to do, is get right back on route, down the Hall of Goals to the Door of your Dreams, and this time when you are unlocking the door to walk in, don't look back. The only one who will ever stop your dreams from becoming actual is you. Yes, the environment does pose obstacles for us to overcome. So just, get through them. You do not have to stop and agree at how big of a barrier it is. That will just slow you down. Do you remember question number two, the one about doing the unimaginable? Well, you had better decide that there is not a single thing that you could not do or create in order to overcome any barriers on the path toward your goal. There, that answers that. You will start to tap into that reservoir now and your thirst will increase for greater effects, and they are not necessarily someone else's concept of what they consider great, but only yours of what you consider something of a large magnitude.
Tapping into your true potential can bring you upon a question that you will have to ask yourself. Am I using my ability for the greatest good? You would also have to ask yourself, "What is the greatest good?" After you have answered both of those questions honestly, you can now proceed to the next chapter.
